Dear Friend of Lake Oswego,
Keep LO Great,
in concert with the Coalition for Lake Oswego and
civic leaders across the community, supported the campaign
to pass the five-year
of the Local Option.
We want to thank all of you who worked so diligently to
advocate in every possible way and at every opportunity for
passage. The result was an overwhelming YES vote that sends
the strong message that we in Lake Oswego care about
providing the resources to give our kids an excellent
education. This vote ensures
continuation for another five years of funding for Lake
Oswego schools and teachers.
Approximately 10% of the annual school budget (over $6
million) comes from the local option levy.
On November 5, 2013, the votes were counted and Measure
3-434 for renewal received 10,232 (78.6%) YES votes vs.
2,789 (21.4%) NO votes over the 18 precincts voting thanks
to an enthusiastic campaign headed by Audrey Monroe and
welcoming support by Lake Oswego School District residents
